The Oracle Applications setup provides three types of installations:
1. Single-node: In this type of installation, the Forms, Database, Concurrent Processor, and Web servers all are installed on a single computer.
2. Two-node: In this type of installation, the Database and Concurrent Processor servers are installed on one node and the Forms and Web servers on another node.
3. Multi-node: In this type of installation, multiple servers are installed on each node in various combinations. You can install these multi-node servers on various operating systems, such as Solaris, Windows, and Linux. To be able to install Oracle Applications components on other nodes, you need to install the components on the database node first. You can then use the configuration file that you created while setting the database node to run Rapid Install on the other installation nodes. You can install one environment or any combination of environments, such as Production (PROD), Test (TEST), and Vision Demonstration (VIS).
