Oracle Apps Order Management Profile Options

During your implementation, you set a value for each profile option in Order Management to specify how the application controls access and processes data.

You can set or view these profile options in Oracle Order Management. Generally, your system administrator sets up and updates profile option values. The Oracle Applications System Administration User's Guide contains more information on profile options, including the internal names of each Order Management profile option.

Important Profile Options Used In OA Framework

1.1. Personalize Self-Service Defn / FND_CUSTOM_OA_DEFINTION

This is intended for system administrators who wish to personalize regions at the localization, site, verticalization, org and responsibility levels. On enabling this profile option for the administrator, every OA Framework page will contain a global Personalize button. By clicking on this global button, the administrator can personalize the regions available on that page.

Oracle R12.1 New Feature - Cascade Header Changes to line

Before R12.1 the profile OM: Sales Order Form: Cascade header Changes to line only worked for one order at a time.

That means if a mass change on some sales orders is done, the cascading functionality did not work.

Example: if you do mass change on 10 sales orders by changing the payment term, the cascading of payment terms didn’t apply on the order lines, in fact we have to cascade the payment term changes for each order one by one.

Profile Options in Oracle Applications

A user profile is a collection of changeable options that affect the way your applications run.  Oracle Applications establishes a value for each option in a user's profile when the user logs on or changes responsibility. Oracle Applications provides these options so that you can alter the behavior of your applications to suit your own preferences.

Script to find out the values of a profile option

It is sometimes hard to know where a profile option is set. A user might have a profile option set, an application, responsibility, and these might result in unexpected results. The following prompts for the profile name that a user sees. You could also query for the internal profile code instead by using the column profile_option_name instead.
